Theresa "Terry" Kelly

Theresa Cybulski Kelly died peacefully on November 9, 2022.   She was 93 years old. 

Terry was born August 3, 1929 to Konstanty and Sofia (Nocek) Cybulski, and was raised in Cleveland, OH. 

She received her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from The Ohio State University College of Pharmacy in 1952, one of only six women in her graduating class.  It was in Indianapolis, IN where she was working as a Research Pharmacist at Eli Lilly & Co that she met the love of her life, Patrick Kelly.    They married on July 26, 1958 in Cleveland, OH and shared 56 wonderful years together, until Pat’s death in 2015.  Terry and Pat moved to Briarcliff Manor in 1964, and were devoted parishioners of St. Theresa’s Church.    Terry worked as a Registered Pharmacist at  Briar Corners Pharmacy and Prescription Plus for thirty years.  

Upon her retirement from the pharmacy at the age of 81, Terry went back to school, starting her new vocation as a clown.  She volunteered as Bubbles the Clown at Westchester Medical Center Pediatrics Hospital and at Rosary Hill Hospice.   

After living in the green house on Hawthorn Place in Briarcliff Manor for 51 years, Terry moved to Scarborough Manor, where she lived surrounded by many good friends. 

Terry is survived by her five children: Kathleen (Gregg Strunk), Eileen (Frank Lass), Maureen (John Ballock), Colleen (Ashish Kishore) and Michael (Heather Kelly), fourteen grandchildren, brother-in-law Michael Kelly (Francesca) and numerous nieces, nephews, neighbors and friends.  Theresa was predeceased by her husband of 56 years, Patrick Kelly, sister Angie Domen, brother Bernard Cybulski, and son-in-law James Capparella.  

Terry had a wonderful sense of adventure, finding pure joy in every day and every person.  She took immense pride in her family, leaving them with countless happy memories, funny stories and common-sense advice.  Terry would want each of us to remember that “Anything is what you make of it.”

Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, November 30 between 4pm-8pm at Waterbury and Kelly Funeral Home, 1300 Pleasantville Road, Briarcliff Manor, NY 10510 .  Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, December 1 at 10am at St. Theresa’s Church, 1394 Pleasantville Road, Briarcliff Manor, NY 10510
