Onorina (Soprano) Narciso

Onorina (Soprano) Narciso 99, of Ossining, NY passed away on Sunday, June 21, 2020.  Onorina was born in Sassinoro Italy on April 6, 1921. Onorina was predeceased by her loving husband, Salvatore Narciso, in 2007.  Onorina is survived by her loving daughters, Carmelina Iorio of Ossining, NY, Annamaria Senzamici of Morcone, Italy, Angela Carbone of Montrose, NY, and her son, Dominic Narciso of Verplank, NY.  Onorina is also survived by nine grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.

Onorina was a remarkable woman, she saw the good in everyone.    Her passions were gardening, baking, and cooking.  In the summers, she would be in the garden well after nightfall watering her vegetables and flowers, this became her sanctuary.  If there was one thing she loved more than gardening it was children.  A mother and Nonna to all…children were drawn to her. She would play with them, sing to them, and teach them things about nature, cooking, and so much more.  She enjoyed company, entertaining, and long conversations on the porch.  She was a conservationist; wasting nothing and using everything to its fullest capacity.  She loved everyone she met and they loved her back because of her thoughtfulness, patience, kindness and her sweet smile that always said “Welcome”.   She passed down stories, traditions, and most important her wisdom.  She was a religious woman who taught us how to pray, give thanks for what we had, and share with others that had less or nothing at all. 

The time we spent with her was a gift from God.  We are so blessed and thankful to have had her with us all these years. She deserved all the love, care, and attention she received.  We are so grateful for all the memories and beautiful pictures we have.  Mom, you are a diamond in the sky. There were never enough rose petals to throw when you walked.  You have left a mark on so many who will never forget you.

 A suggestion: In lieu of flowers a contribution in her name can be sent to Maria Fareri Children’s Hospital, 100 Woods Road, Valhalla, NY.

Funeral Mass, St. Ann’s Church, Ossining, NY on Thursday 10 AM. Private Interment will be held at Dale Cemetery, Ossining, NY.
