Martha Gertrude Miller, of Briarcliff Manor and Vero Beach, Florida, passed away peacefully on October 16th, 2020. Trudy, as she was known to all, was born on May 16th, 1931 to Elizabeth Montagnoli and Anthony Miranda.
She attended Alexander Hamilton High School in Elmsford, where she met and fell in love with Stephen Miller, who predeceased her in 2002. They were married in 1950 and are now reunited in time for their 70th anniversary on October 22nd.
Steve and Trudy started their family in White Plains, NY and moved to Briarcliff Manor in 1960. There they raised five children: Debbie Black (Wayne Pereira) of Plymouth, MA; Beverley Miller of Palm Bay, FL, Steve Miller (Janet Jacobson) of Hopewell Junction; Carolyn Miller of Briarcliff Manor; and Jackie Miller (Robert Mecarini) of Cortlandt Manor. She was blessed with seven loving grandchildren: Kyle, Allison, Carissa, Stephen, Matthew, Alessandro and Sofia. She had the double fortune of 4 great-grandchildren as well-Nesta, Juno, Reese and Layla.
Trudy valued family and friends above all, and if you dropped by for a visit, you’d likely catch her at the stove cooking up a great meal for 2 to 20. She made lifelong friends in Briarcliff, including the Borhos, O’Hagans, Weldons and Ozellos. We are certain that she was greeted by her husband Steve, and her dear friends who departed before her with a big celebration and we’re happy that they’ve all been reunited.
Trudy successfully fought off COVID19 this April, but it left her weakened and she contracted pneumonia this fall. She will be laid to rest at her husband’s side in Vero Beach, Florida. Trudy was a powerhouse in her own right, cared for so many and never asked for anything in return. She will be sorely missed by all.
