Frank James Casillas III was a proud veteran of the UNITED STATES ARMY. Frank unexpectedly passed away February 29th, 2024, in his current hometown of Ossining, NY.
He was born on September 13th, 1986, in the Bronx, New York to Frank James Casillas II and Jacqueline Ledezma. His hometown was Queens, NY.
He joined the military in 2007 where he served two tours in Iraq and Afghanistan. Frank was extremely dedicated to crafting his knowledge and leadership in the military with all his fellow brothers and sisters in arms. Frank retired from the military honorably in 2014 after seven years of service.
In 2010 while serving in the military, Frank met his wife, Melinda Rodriguez. Frank and Melinda were married in their hometown of Watertown, NY on September 17th, 2011. They welcomed their beautiful baby boy Javier Matthew Casillas, on August 2nd, 2015, who is the light of his life. Frank was a devoted father to Javier who was the most important part of his life and a beloved husband to his wife.
In 2017 Frank graduated from LaGuardia Community College with an Associate Degree in Arts and a Bachelor’s Degree in Arts & Science from Pace University in 2019. His lifework was to help his fellow veterans in need.
After serving in the military, one of Frank’s first jobs was working at Bethel Nursing Home helping seniors. At his most current job with The New York State Department of Labor, he was a Disabled Veterans Outreach Program Specialist. This was remarkably close to his heart as he was passionate about helping his veteran community with the upmost dedication and humility. His love for helping humankind further took him to volunteering on the weekends at the Peekskill CHHOP Homeless Shelter in Peekskill, NY.
Frank was a spiritual man and incredibly involved in his church, St. Augustine’s in Ossining, NY. During his extra time, he would assist with the masses by lecturing beautifully for the community. He recently was inducted as one of the youngest men to the Knights of Columbus for St. Augustine’s.
He will be deeply missed by his friends, family and all who knew him. Frank is survived by his wife Melinda, his son Javier, his parents Frank and Jacqueline, his brothers Brandon & Markie, his sisters Melody & Angelica, and so many other beloved family members.
A visitation will be held on Thursday March 7th, 2024, at 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Leach and Thomas Funeral Home in Ossining, NY. Followed by a Mass on Friday March 8th, 2024, at 10:00 am at St. Augustine’s Church in Ossining, NY. He will be laid to rest in St. Augustine’s Cemetery following the mass.
