August C. Baccari (Augie), 96, of Briarcliff Manor, NY, passed away peacefully on October 17, 2020. Augie was born on August 24,1924 to August J. Baccari and Adele DiPillo.
Augie graduated Ossining High School in 1942 and then joined the Army and proudly served his country in World War II.
Professionally, Augie worked for Fiore’s Beer distributor as an accountant for a few years and later worked with his wife, Joan, as a florist. Joan and Augie owned and operated the House of Bacston Flower and Gift Shop in Ossining for over 52 years.
Augie was predeceased by his wife Joan Stanton Baccari, his sisters Elda Harlow and Marylou Zanette in 2017. August is survived by his three children Linda (Claude) Krakenberg of Hopewell Junction, NY, Celeste (Rick) Chicotka of Yorktown, NY, and August (A.J.) Baccari of Ossining, granddaughter Heather Krakenberg and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be private and handled by Leach and Thomas Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers donations in Augie’s name to Support Connection in Yorktown would be greatly appreciated.
