Kadoza “Woody” Worthy passed away Dec 21, 2018 at his home. He was 95 years old. Woody was born December 4, 1923 to Henry and Fannie Worthy in Winston-Salem, NC. He was an Army Veteran, serving during WWII and the Korean War. He met and married Blanche Morrison on September 12, 1948 and they recently celebrated their 70th anniversary. After his military service, Woody attended NYU and obtained his B.S. in Accounting. He worked as an Accountant and Controller for Tele-Guide, Inc. before securing a position with the IRS. Woody and Blanche moved to Ossining, NY in 1962 and he was an active member of the Ossining community, serving as School Board President and Vice President in the 1970’s. He retired from the IRS in 1985 and was self-employed as a tax advisor and accountant for many local businesses. In 1988, Woody was elected Treasurer and Tax Collector for the Village of Ossining for two years. Woody and Blanche were also active members of the Cooperative Scholarship Fund of Ossining for 40 years and were members of the First Baptist Church of Ossining for over 50 years. Woody leaves behind his wife, Blanche, sons, Mark and Steven, daughters, Patricia and Lori and two grandsons, Matthew and Micah as well as nephews, nieces and cousins. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday Dec. 29, 2018 at the First Baptist Church of Ossining at 11 AM. In lieu of flowers donations in Kadoza’s name to either First Baptist Church of Ossining or Cooperative Scholarship of Ossining would be appreciated.
