Juana (Juanita) Angelica Huaman

Croton on Hudson - Juana (Juanita) Huaman, peacefully passed away on Monday, November 18th, 2019 at the age of 80. She was surrounded by her loving daughters, son-in-law’s, grandchildren and family.

Juanita was born on June 26th, 1939 in Lima, Peru. She arrived to the United States in 1963 where she met Cesar Huaman, and they married in 1965. The couple had two daughters, Annie and Gina. They lived in Manhattan until 1994 when they moved to Elmsford, N.Y., and then to Croton on Hudson in 1998.

She worked as a housekeeper and nanny for many families through-out the years, and enjoyed cooking, baking, knitting and especially sewing. She loved music and had a beautiful voice, often singing at family gatherings. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother playing a pivotal role in the care of all of her grandchildren. She is survived by her daughters, Annie LaSalla (Frank) and Gina Santos (Jose), 4 grandchildren, cousins, nieces and extended family in Peru.

A memorial service is being held on Saturday, November 23rd, 2019 10am - 2pm, prayer service begins at 1pm, at Waterbury & Kelly Funeral Home, 45 South Highland Avenue, Ossining, NY 10562. Luncheon to follow at Terra Rustica, 550 N State Rd, Briarcliff Manor, NY 10510.
