With love, we celebrate the life of Rose Winterfeldt. She passed at age 92 at Calvary Hospital on Saturday, November 23, 2019.
Born in Berlin, Germany in 1927 to Gertrude and Edmund Lehmann, Rose is survived by her son, Walter Winterfeldt, and daughter, Jane Tibbatts; grandsons, Johnny and David Tibbatts; son-in-law, John Tibbatts; and daughter-in-law, Lori Winterfeldt.
Her early years were spent in Berlin, surviving the difficult war years. Her Shoah testimony is available and can be viewed at: https://youtu.be/bdYXVpgIJD8 After immigrating to the United States, she raised her two children and worked as a bi-lingual legal secretary.
A resident of Yonkers for the last 56 years, Rose volunteered her time at St. John’s Riverside Hospital and at the Michael N. Malotz Skilled Nursing Pavilion for over 10 years. She also spent many hours knitting blankets for Project Linus https://www.projectlinus.org

Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday 12 PM at the Waterbury & Kelly Funeral Home of Briarcliff Manor, NY. Interment, Rose Hills Memorial Park, Putnam Valley, NY to follow.
