Peter Gerard Meschio

Peter Gerard Meschio, 99, of Ossining, New York passed away peacefully on October 23, 2023.  He was born in Bronx New York on December 18, 1923 to Peter and Angelina (Gobelli) Meschio and grew up in Queens, New York graduating from bayside High School.  On January 1, 1943 he enlisted in the United States Army during World War II and served in the Army Air Corp as an airplane and engine mechanic in Guam while attaining the rank of Staff Sargent.  After the war he was employed for several years by Edo Aircraft Corporation in Long Island as a quality inspector.

In 1949 Peter became a member of the Maryknoll Fathers and Brothers in Ossining serving the Catholic church as a Brother for fifteen years.  Later leaving Maryknoll he served as a supervisor for physical plant systems at Iona University in New Rochelle, New York.

In 1965 Peter married Alda Borella Meschio at Saint Anne’s Catholic Church in Ossining, New York being happily married for 48 years before her passing in 2013. Although they never had children, they lived a full life surrounded by family including cousins, nieces, nephews as well as grand-nieces and grand-nephews.

Pete loved all sporting activities and was an avid snow skier, swimmer and hunter; he loved being outdoors.  He was a kind hearted gentle soul who enjoyed the company of friends and family while professing his faith in God to all.

Peter was predeceased by his sister Margaret Meschio and leaves behind a brother William Meschio of Manchester, Vermont as well as a large extended family.
