Nicholas Evanchik, born June 18, 1925, New York, NY. Died October 15, 2019, Briarcliff Manor, NY. Graduate of Stuyvesant High School. Quartermaster aboard the battleship USS Idaho during the Pacific campaign of the Second World War. A long-serving executive at General Foods; he oversaw finances at Hollywood Gum in France and Gevalia Coffee in Sweden, before returning to the United States as a business analyst for domestic and international acquisitions. After retirement, he was active in the local politics of the village of Briarcliff Manor. Son of Helen and Michael Evanchik. Brother of Olga, Anna, Helen, Sophie, and John. Husband of Raymonde. Father of Francoise and Michel. Father-in-Law of Monica. Grandfather of Jack and Freya. A wake will be held at Waterbury & Kelly Funeral Home, Friday, October 18, from 4 to 8 PM. Funeral services at St. Theresa’s Church in Briarcliff at 10 AM on Saturday, October 19. He will be greatly missed.
