Marian A. Tavolacci

Marian “Mama” Tavolacci of Briarcliff Manor, NY, entered heaven on February 14, 2024—Valentine’s Day. She was 101 years young.

Born in the Bronx, NY, to Luciano and Marietta Pullaccia Ferrante, Marian was a beautiful soul inside and out. She married Joseph R. Tavolacci in 1941. They were together for 47 years. From their home in Rye, NY, Marian and Joe raised their three children before moving to Briarcliff Manor.

            Marian is survived by her children, Francis Tavolacci, Joseph Tavolacci (Cynthia), and Gina Laska (Less), as well as eight grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her loving husband, her beloved grandson Joseph Lane, and her sister Florence Salvatore.

Marian adored her family, which also included her precious dogs, cats, and a horse. She volunteered at hospitals and supported the ASPCA and Doris Day Foundation.

Marian’s family is eternally grateful to her caregiver Marina Giorgadze, who lovingly cared for Mama, fed her delicious meals, and dressed her beautifully until her final days. Linda Tavolacci, another angel, spent many hours with Mama in her last years, filling the days with love and laughter. The family also thanks the other important people who brought joy to Mama’s life and is grateful to the staff at Waterbury & Kelly for helping with funeral arrangements.   

A Funeral Mass for Marian will be held on Tuesday February 20, 2024, at St. Theresa’s Church in Briarcliff Manor at 10 AM. The interment at the Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Hawthorne, NY, will follow.
