A beautiful life she lived. An Amazing Woman, a Mother, a Grandmother, and a Friend.
Maria Rosa was born in Palmeiros, Batalha on June 8, 1933. She was the only girl among four brothers, and she proudly shared stories about being a tough little girl — keeping up with the boys and preferring their company during playtime.
In December of 1979, Maria and her husband immigrated to the United States with their four children. It was here, in Ossining, that they planted new roots; built a life for themselves and raised a family together. Maria Rosa is survived by her children, Jaime, Carlos, Armando, and Delfina, and their spouses Amelia, Laurie and Christina, her grandchildren, Daniel, Nicolas, Samuel, Miguel, André and Gabriela.
Growing up, Maria Rosa whole-heartedly loved her parents and family. She passed that unconditional love onto her children and led by example for how to love without limits. One of Maria Rosa’s greatest joys was watching her family grow and seeing the roots of her love expand.
Maria will be dearly missed by her family and friends. Her life will continue to be celebrated through her blessed memories, teachings and guidance.
In lieu of flowers donations in Maria's name to St. Jude's Childrens Hospital or The Wounded Warrior Project would be appreciated. See links below to donate.
