L. June Lancto, It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of June Lancto on Friday April 3, 2020. Born in North Tarrytown, NY on July 1, 1936, she was the daughter of Laura Godbout Lancto and Alfred Lancto. A graduate of Our Lady of Victory Academy in Tarrytown, class of 1954, she was a former secretary for Nationwide Insurance Company in White Plains, and later a secretary and event planner at Phelps Memorial Hospital, where she retired in 2008. She had a passion for shopping, was a very creative artist, knitter, and a wonderful cook. She also loved to travel. Above all, her greatest joy in life was time spent with her family and dear friends, and her adored Maltese, Abby. In addition to her brother Raymond Lancto and sister Patricia Bancroft, she leaves behind her loving nephews Christian Bancroft (Jamie), Drew Bancroft (Carol), and her cherished great-nephews and great-niece Jacob, Noah, and Laura Bancroft. June was a parishioner of St. Theresa Church in Briarcliff, and a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Ladies Auxiliary 1042 in Sleepy Hollow. Interment at Sleepy Hollow Cemetery. A memorial mass for family and friends will follow at a future date. Donations in June's name may be made to: The Fisher Center for Alzheimer's Research Foundation, FDR Station, PO Box 220, New York, NY 10150, 1-800-259-4636, info@alzinfo.org.
