Joseph DeCrenza

Joseph (Papa Joe) DeCrenza 78, a lifelong resident of Ossining, NY passed away surrounded by family on May 23, 2018. Joseph was born on Feb. 29, 1940 to the late Anthony and Rose (nee Lamberti) DeCrenza in Ossining, NY. Joseph is survived by his devoted wife Anne (nee Scozzafava) DeCrenza of 54 years. Joseph worked for the Teamsters 456 for 30 years and the Mt. Pleasant School District for 15 years. He proudly served his country in the US Army National Guard. Joseph joined the ranks of the Ossining Fire Dept, Monitor Hose Company #4, where he actively served for 55 years as a driver, officer, and commissioner. Joseph is survived by his two loving sons Joseph (Kerri) DeCrenza of Ossining, NY, Marc (Courtney) DeCrenza of Fleetwood, NY, his caring daughter Toni Anne (John) Tatum of Cortlandt Manor, NY, his cherished grandchildren Abby DeCrenza, Ben DeCrenza, Rocco DeCrenza, Ruby DeCrenza and his step grandchildren Jonathan Tatum and Kaia Tatum. Also survived by his sisters Lucy Tomasulo and Florence DeCrenza as well as many adoring nieces and nephews. Joseph was predeceased by his two sisters Virginia and Carolyn DeCrenza. Reposing, Leach & Thomas Funeral Home, Tuesday from 7-9 PM and Wednesday from 4-8 PM. Funeral Mass, St Ann’s Church, Ossining, NY on Thursday 10 AM. Interment, St Augustine’s Cemetery, Ossining, NY to follow.
