John "Johnny" Leggio

John “Johnny” Leggio, 83, passed away June 14, 2022.John was born on August 17, 1938 in Tarrytown, NY. John is survived by his beloved wife, Maria Leggio of 35 years, his children; David Leggio, Bobbie Jean Volpe, Kimberly O’Hare, Beverly Klastow and Joseph Marino. His Brothers; Robert Leggio, Philip Leggio and Richard Leggio. His Grandchildren; Gianna, Jamie, Owen, Ellis, Grace, Olivia, David, John, Luke, Miranda, Chrissy and Joie. He is pre-deceased by his mother and father, Josephine and John Leggio, Sr. After graduating High School, John obtained his Class 1 license and became a driver for Local 456. He eventually went on to become the Shop Steward at Wescon/N&W Concrete and his career working in the industry spanned over 40 years. He was loved and respected by all of his colleagues and is most well-known for his kind heart, gentle soul and generous nature. John retired at the age of 62 and he and his wife Maria moved to Sarasota Florida, where he loved playing golf, cooking and spending time with his family, which was by far his greatest joy. John’s memory will live on through his children and grandchildren who will continue to honor him by keeping alive the family traditions he held so dearly. He will be reposing on Wednesday, June 22, 2022, 4pm-8pm at Waterbury Kelly in Briarcliff Manor, NY. Funeral Mass, Thursday, June 23, 2022, 10am at St. Augustine’s Church, Ossining, NY. Burial immediately following at Sleepy Hollow Cemetery, Sleepy Hollow, NY.
