Xiushi Hou passed away on Friday, March 24, 2023 in her Briarcliff Manor residence. She was 89 years old. Xiushi was born on August 16, 1933 in Liansui County, Jiangsu Province, China. Before her retirement in 1989, she had been a middle school teacher and befriended by many of her students who visited her both during school years and long after their graduation. She is predeceased by her husband Shikun Liu on March 7, 1998. Xiushi is survived by her children Jintao, Jinhui and Jinke Liu. She is also survived by her grandchildren Kevin Liu, Jack Liu, Isabella Liu, Timothy Liu, Thomas Liu, and Albert Liu.  Reposing, Waterbury & Kelly Funeral Home on Monday from 12- 1 PM followed by a private cremation. Xiushi will be interred in Kensico Cemetery on Wednesday at 3 PM.
