Mildred Jesse Puchir of Ossining, beloved, wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother passed away on Saturday, December 10, 2022.  She was 101, just shy of her 102nd birthday on January 31st.  Mildred and her husband Mike established Ossining Hardware in 1950.

Mildred was born on January 31, 1921 in Yonkers, NY to Elizabeth and Valentine Weisensee.  She went to Commerce High School and worked in NYC for the marine contracting company McCutchen's on Madison Avenue. She was responsible for estimating and procuring the contents of ships built at that time.

On August 31, 1946 Mildred Weisensee married Michael Puchir at St, John's Episcopal Church in Yonkers, NY.  She was a member of Saint Paul's Church in Ossining, NY and participated in many church activities.  She will be remembered for her beauty, kindness, her knitting talent and her love of cooking and baking.  Her Blueberry brickle and pies were a fan favorite!

She is survived by her dear friend Joe Holohan, 3 children, Robert (Jeanne), Carol and Diane (Steven), 5 grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren.

Members of her family who died earlier include brother Valentine and daughter Elizabeth Julia.

Reposing, Leach & Thomas Funeral Home on Monday from 4-8 PM, where Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday at 11 AM. Interment, Oakland Cemetery, Yonkers, NY to follow.
