Marie Diemer Andrews, affectionately known as Maya to her family, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loved ones on October 28. She was born to Ulrich and Josephine Schiele Diemer on September 18, 1927 in Ossining, N.Y. where she resided most of her life. She graduated from Ossining High School in 1945 and Business School in New York City where she was working when she met her future husband, Emil "Andy" Andrews. They married in 1948 and built a beautiful life in Ossining.

In 1956 Marie began her lifelong career as an Executive Secretary to the Corporate Director of General Electric's Crotonville Management Training Center established by legendary CEO Jack Welch. Her career there spanned 5 decades. Marie and her husband Andy were avid travelers visiting most countries in Europe, especially Germany, the home of many of her family members. Marie kept meticulous journals of the places they visited, describing the culture, food, people, and scenery of the region.

Marie was known for her positive attitude, her upbeat, bright personality, her love of life and her devotion to lifelong friends. She is predeceased by her husband, Andy, but is survived by her cousins, Delores Economou (Rip) and Karl Kehrle (Maria), and their children, Alexis Bantel, Greg Economou, Mark Economou, Karl Joseph Kehrle and Marlene Brownell, as well as her nieces, Marie Merritt and Susan Robinson.

Friends are invited to attend a funeral mass on November 13 at 10 am at St. Augustine Roman Catholic Church on 381 N. Highland Ave., Ossining, NY 10562. Burial will follow at St. Augustine Cemetery.
