Maple Maypo Tiu 78, of Ossining, NY passed away peacefully with her children by her side after a brief but brave fight against cancer on June 1, 2024. Maple was a generous and loving mother who enjoyed traveling the world, doing puzzles and spending time with her family – especially her granddaughter Lyla.  Prior to dedicating her time to raising her children, Maple left Hong Kong to come to NY to study at SUNY Buffalo to become a dietician where she worked for several years at a hospital in Queens.  Maple was born on October 14, 1945 to the late Hong-Yuen and Miu-Ling Lo in Hong Kong. Maple was predeceased by her husband Carlos Tiu in 2006. She is survived by her children Melissa (Martin Lin) Tiu of Cortlandt Manor, NY, Charlie (Linda) Tiu of Queens, NY, her brother Chu-Chung (Sarah) Lo of California, her sister Milly (Monty) Wong of Virginia and her granddaughter Lyla Lin. Maple was predeceased by her brother Chu-Shek Lo in 2017. Visitation will be held on Friday at the Leach & Thomas Funeral Home from 2-5 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations in Maple's name to the American Cancer Society would be appreciated.
