Kwana Christina Johnson, born on July 21, 1976, in Brooklyn, NY, lived a life defined by love, wisdom, and connection. Moving to Ossining in her middle school years, Kwana quickly made friends with her no-nonsense personality, brilliant mind, and deeply compassionate spirit.

Kwana was a woman of incredible strength and purpose. She embraced life's simplicity and found her greatest joy and calling in working with children. Though she never bore children of her own, she became a mother figure to countless children, nephews, and godchildren, pouring her heart into their lives with unmatched love and dedication.

To know Kwana was to love her. She was a voice of reason, a shoulder to lean on, and, when needed, a reality check delivered with kindness and care. She met people exactly where they were, connecting deeply and authentically. Her smile and laugh were infectious, her encouragement never wavered, and she always smelled amazing. Confident and secure, she lifted others up, cheered them on, and made everyone feel uniquely valued.

Kwana loved the color green, a reflection of her vibrant, nurturing spirit. Her family was her anchor, and she cherished her husband, Danny Wheeler, their children, her brother Derrick, her mother Donna, and her sister Monisha with a fierce and unwavering devotion. She had an extraordinary ability to make every friend feel like family and every moment spent with her unforgettable.

Her greatest gift was her ability to connect with people. Kwana's life was an assignment of love and connection, and she fulfilled it with grace, strength, and a heart big enough to hold us all. Though her absence leaves an irreplaceable void, her legacy of love, wisdom, and encouragement will continue to inspire and guide us.

Rest in peace, Kwana. Your light remains, shining brightly in every life you touched.

Visitation will be held on Saturday January 11th 2025 from 4-8 PM at The Leach & Thomas Funeral Home, 45 S. Highland Ave, Ossining, NY 10562. A private cremation will follow.
