Kevin James Downing was born to Belinda (nee Foy) and James Augustine Downing on July 27, 1951 in Yonkers, New York. A lifelong resident of Yonkers, Kevin graduated from St Joseph's School, Manhattan Prep and Manhattan College. After briefly teaching school, and working for US Customs, he began what would be a thirty year career working for the NYS Dept of Labor, culminating in a supervisory position. Kevin was a bright man with a sparkling but acerbic wit. The "computer guru" of the family, he was there to answer our every question. His "happy place" was the family cabin on a New Hampshire lake where he spent as much of summer as he could with friends and family. He is survived by his loving sister Maureen Novotny and brother John (Maggie).  One of his favorite roles was as loving uncle to Michael (Michelle), Jen (Josh), Lauren (Dan) and Pamela (Miguel) and great uncle to Jack, Conor, and Ryder. He will be missed by a multitude of cousins and a host of friends. Visitation will be Tuesday, September 7, 2021 4-8PM.
