IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Julio Cesar
Capurro
September 1, 1948 – March 7, 2025
It is with heavy hearts which we share that on March 7, 2025 Julio Cesar Capurro passed away at home surrounded by those he loved. Julio was born on September 1, 1948 in Uruguay, S.A. He was predeceased by his parents, Carmen Nicoletti and Jose Capurro, and his brother Walter Capurro.
Julio's life was extraordinary by any measure. After meeting and marrying the love of his life, Susana, together they immigrated to the states in 1974 when he was only 26. Far from home and family, he conquered not only a new land and language but through hard work, dedication and his entrepreneurial spirit built a thriving and successful business in Capurro Contracting, Inc. While Julio took immense pride in his work that paled in comparison to his love and pride for the beautiful family, including two children – Rosanna and Sebastian - which he and Susana created together. Years passed and children were followed by grandchildren, all which he showered with the same tender, patient, and gentle love that he generously bestowed on all those in his life.
There are countless treasured memories left behind of a lifetime well lived. Days of hard work, of course, that was a given but also barbecues in the backyard, trips to Punta Cana with the kids, an unforgettable trip to Spain with his love and friends, Labor Day getaways spent celebrating back to back birthdays with his daughter and grandson, and so many more. Any and all time off was always shared with both family and friends, usually around food. Julio was known to love food, wine, and soccer, especially a good 'asado' (barbecue); a true connoisseur of all cuts of meat (funny, I know, but oh so true). He could also reliably be found on weekends sitting in his recliner watching either Barcelona FC or his beloved, Uruguay national team play.
A serious and gentle man, Julio will be remembered by all who knew him for the kindness and love he shared during his life.
Julio is survived by his wife, Susana (Mirta) Capurro, his daughter Rosanna (Ara), his son Sebastian (Jennifer), and his grandchildren, Maya, Jared, Makenzie and Taryn, and by the many extended family members and friends who loved him.
