Joseph (Joe) Pastell, age 85 of Ossining, NY passed away on the 29th day of August 2018.  He was a Veteran of the Submarine Force 1951-1955 and the Air Force Strategic Air Command 1958-1963, a total of 8 years 6 months of Honorable Service.  Born April of 1933 in N. Tarrytown NY.  Graduated Washington Irving H.S. Tarrytown in 1951.  Predeceased by his Saintly wife Margaret and sister Jean of Mystic Ct.  Survived by daughters Tania Cafarelli of Ossining, NY, grandchildren Victoria and Robert.  Patricia Mingione of Ridgefield, Ct., grandchildren Victor, Elise and Andrea Quartucio.  Nieces Linda Lee and Jeannine of Kingsland Ga.  Joe was a member of Briarcliff Manor American Legion Post 1040, life member VFW Post 8645 New Paltz, NY, active life member Hudson Valley Base Submarine Veterans, New Paltz, NY.  Interment, with full military honors will be at St. Augustine Cemetery on October 6, 2018 at 11 AM.  Donations in Memory of Pastell, Joseph R. to the Veterans Organizations of your choice would be appreciated.  The family would like to thank the staff of Phelps Hospital, especially the caring, accommodating, and professional team serving the fifth floor, including the hospitality staff, aides, nurses, and doctors.
