Obituary

Joan Frances Neubauer of Briarcliff Manor, NY entered into heaven on August 12, 2020 at the age of 81. She was born in the Bronx, NY to the late Ester and John Fitzgibbons on July 6, 1939. She graduated from Lehmans College with a teaching Degree, where she became a substitute teacher in the Bronx. She enjoyed going to car shows and garage sales with her late husband George Neubauer, but her passion and biggest joy was spending time with her six grandchildren. No matter what her grandkids interests or hobbies were she researched and learned so she could take part in activities with them. When she wasn't with her grandkids she was an avid reader and always knew what books were on the Top 10 Best Selling list. Joan was a loving wife, mother, sister, aunt and proud grandmother. She is survived by her two sons George (Jeannie), Robert (Marcia) and her daughter Karen (Guy). Also survived by her cherished grandchildren Anthony, Trevor, George, Kimberly, Monica and Max as well as her sister three sisters, Kathy Troso, Pat Vozzi, and Linda Fitzgibbons. Joan is predeceased by her brother John Fitzgibbons. Reposing, Waterbury & Kelly Funeral Home on Monday, August 17, from 9-11 AM. Funeral Mass, St. Theresa Church, Briarcliff Manor on Monday at 11:30 AM. Interment, Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Hawthorne NY to follow.
