Janice Ruotolo passed away peacefully at home on March 10, 2026. Janice was born August 31, 1932 in the Bronx, NY to Robert and Mary Ann Cantillo. She graduated Hunter College with a degree in education and dedicated her career to helping those children who needed her most. She was a strong believer in education and self-improvement, earning a Master's degree from Manhattan College.

Janice met the love of her life, her husband Steve, on a blind date. They wed on July 12, 1952 and started a family, settling in Ardsley where she taught for her entire career. Janice was an artistic soul at heart: She was an award-winning photographer and also enjoyed painting, décor, design, needlepoint and cooking. She was a generous friend, a considerate neighbor and a world traveler. Her family was the center of her life.

She was preceded in death by her husband Steve and is survived by her brother Robert, and her children Steven (Rita), Riccardo (Alison) and Laura, and her two grandchildren Steven (Edisel) and Sophia Gardy (Josh) as well as adoring nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held at Leach & Thomas Funeral Home in Ossining, NY from 7 to 9 p.m. on March 27, and a memorial service on March 28 at 10 a.m. at Gate of Heaven Chapel in Hawthorne, NY. Memorial gifts can be made to American Parkinson Disease Association at apda@apdaparkinson.org.
