George Policello of Ossining, NY died on May 12, 2025. George was born in Tarrytown, NY on April 18, 1934 to Nunzioantonio and Lucy Policello. On February 20, 1955 George married the love of his life, Ida Leonelli, who predeceased him on December 15, 2022.  George worked for Birrittella's Bakery in Tarrytown and waxed floors and cleaned storefront windows at night before starting a home delivery service out of Diamond Dairy in Tarrytown, NY with his wife.  After selling the business, he went to work for Diamond Dairy, delivering milk and later as a salesman.  After retiring three times from Diamond Dairy, he eventually had to give up work due to the onset of Parkinson's.  George loved the game of golf and played with his loyal golf buddies weekly. He organized golf outings for St. Ann's Church and the Ossining Elk's Club.  He was a life member of the Ossining Elk's Club and Phoenix Hose Company No 2 in Tarrytown. He was a devout member of St. Ann's Church.  He was a Eucharistic Minister, a member of the Festival Committee since it began, a Bingo volunteer, and an amazing school parent volunteer who helped with floor waxing and painting the gym.  He loved to help others. The list can go on.  George is survived by his children, George (Sharon), Stephen (Susan), and Lisa (James), grandchildren Tara (Stephen), Ben (April), Rebecca, Elizabeth, and Timothy, great grandchildren Ayla and Luca, and known as his two adopted daughters, Margaret Eltablawi and Desiree Robinson. George is also predeceased by his brother, John.

Reposing on Monday, May 19, 2025 from 4:00-8:00 PM at the Leach & Thomas – Waterbury & Kelly Funeral Home. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 10:00 AM on Tuesday, May 20, 2025 at St. Ann's Church in Ossining. Interment will follow at Sleepy Hollow Cemetery in Sleepy Hollow, NY. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to St. Ann's Church 10 Elizabeth St., Ossining, NY or the Gullotta House Inc. 72 N. State Road #175, Briarcliff Manor, NY 10510.
