Obituary

On September 5, 2025, Elizabeth A. (Beth) O'Mara passed away peacefully at home after an extended illness.  On June 23, 1950, Beth became the first of six children born to Eugene and Lucille Johnson.  For the past 48 years, she was the beloved wife of Patrick O'Mara.  Beth had fiery red hair and a passion for helping others.  Whether it was in her role as a legal assistant in her younger days, her years as a toy store employee, or her experiences as an assistant Montessori teacher in later years, she always went the extra mile with zeal and aplomb.  Beth helped to raise her youngest siblings, and she developed a life-long love for helping young children.  She had a deep Catholic faith with a special devotion to Our Lady, and she also had a kind and understated way of putting her faith into action in everyday life.  Beth especially cherished her enduring bonds of friendship with the Laddomada and Kellert families.

Surviving Beth are her devoted husband Patrick; her sister Ann Marie Murray (Roderick); her brothers John (Denise), Robert, and William Johnson; her sister-in-law Anne Cobb (James); her nieces Kelsey Priebe (Hunter), Megan Cobb, and Michelle Ocampo (Jose); her nephews Matthew and Michael Johnson, Sean Murray, and William Noel III; and her godson Peter Laddomada.  Preceding her in death were her parents Eugene and Lucille Johnson; Patrick's parents Patrick and Bridie O'Mara; her sister Jean Noel; her brother-in-law William Noel II; her nephew Terry Cobb; and her close friend Jeanne Laddomada.

May the holy angels lead Beth into Paradise.... A memorial mass will be celebrated 11:30 AM Saturday, September 13, 2025 at St. Theresa's Church,1394 Pleasantville Road, Briarcliff Manor, NY 10510.
