Diane Arlene Mezzatesta passed away on Tuesday, September 29, 2026. For more than 60 years, she shared her life with her beloved husband and lifelong best friend, Anthony Frank Mezzatesta. Born on April 13, 1943, in Yonkers, New York, to Renard and Jean Gramaglia, she grew up on Kimball Avenue with her brother, Robert Gramaglia Sr. Diane and Anthony made their home in Briarcliff Manor, New York, for over 50 years, surrounded by a community and friends she loved.

Diane was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. Anthony and their three sons, Anthony Jr., Christopher, and John Paul, were the center of her universe. She loved being "Mum Mum" to her eight grandchildren and made each of them feel cherished. She loved watching them play sports, cheering them on in person when she could and talking about their games afterward. Diane believed that family and friends, and the relationships we build with them, shape who we become.

Diane carried a deep love for her youngest son, John Paul, who died tragically in 2012. As she faced the end of her life, she found peace in the belief that she would be reunited with him. That thought brought her great comfort.

Diane had a gift for bringing people together. She loved planning birthday parties and celebrating life's milestones. She gathered family and friends for breakfast, lunch, dinner, or cake, finding joy in the small occasions as well as the big ones. She was known for texting pictures, pictures, and more pictures to her family and friends, sharing the moments she wanted everyone to remember.

Two of Diane's happiest places were Disney World in Orlando and the family beach house in Mantoloking, New Jersey. She loved bringing the family together at Disney World each year. At the beach house, she loved sharing meals on the back porch overlooking the lagoon, surrounded by family and friends.

Diane held her many circles of friends close to her heart. She made lasting friendships through her book club, breakfast club, garden club, exercise classes, Briarcliff Recreation activities, and her work in real estate, among many others. She brought positivity and light to the people she met. Her legacy lives in the connections she made and the friendships she nurtured. She would want those who loved her to keep gathering and celebrating life's big and little moments together.

Diane is survived by her husband, Anthony; her sons, Anthony Mezzatesta Jr. and his wife, Debbie, and Christopher John Mezzatesta and his wife, Pamela; her daughter-in-law, Rachel Mezzatesta; and her grandchildren, Taylor, Cameron, Logan, C.J., Madison, Hunter, J.P., and Mandy. She was preceded in death by her beloved son, John Paul Mezzatesta.
