Catherine E. Culp 98, a lifelong resident of Ossining, NY passed away peacefully on October 21, 2023. She was born on December 6, 1924 to James and Elizabeth Everett, and was the last of her generation. She was a devoted mother, aunt and friend. She is survived by her two daughters Cathy Evins and Stephany Raffio, her nieces and nephews, and her two close friends Amy and Candace. Catherine was a loving daughter, sister, aunt and cousin. She was devoted to her family, parents and extended relatives. She cherished every moment she spent with them. Catherine attended Ossining High School and was an avid basketball player and during WWII she worked as a riveter building airplanes at the General Motors plant. Catherine had a passion for education and literature. She worked as a councilor at Wiltwych School for Boys for over 30 years, and also tutored reading at Park Elementary School. She loved to read books and share stories with her students and family. She was a strong woman who valued her independence. She always said "I love my independence" and stood by that to the very end. She lived a full and happy life on her own terms. Catherine will be fondly remembered for her courage, resilience and spirit. She Inspired many people with her determination and optimism. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Reposing, Leach & Thomas Funeral Home on Thursday from 11-1 PM. A private burial will take place at Dale Cemetery.
