Obituary

Carl Anton Boe, of Scarborough, NY, passed away peacefully on September 1, 2024, due to complications from a stroke. He was 81.

Carl was born in Wilmington, Delaware, on April 16, 1943, to Carsten F. and Bissi Boe, who immigrated from Norway in the late 1930s. He graduated from Valley Regional High School (Essex, CT) in 1961 and from Dartmouth College, Class of 1965.

Carl began his career with Univac in Zurich, Switzerland; he joined IBM in 1967, serving in top management positions, first in Boston, and then in New York during which time he spent 2+ years in IBM's offices in Yokohama, Japan. A world traveler, Carl was fluent in five foreign languages: Norwegian, German, Swedish, French and Japanese.

While at Dartmouth, Carl was a member of Dartmouth Rowing and was active in the Class of '65 Alumni Association for years.

A champion skier, Carl was a member of Ski Club 10 in Sugarbush, VT. He loved to paint, especially landscape watercolors, and he was a true lover of animals.

But his real love was on the court, playing tennis and squash, first at Westside Tennis Club and then at Sleepy Hollow Country Club, where he played regularly with his "Breakfast Club" buddies.

Carl was the consummate gentleman, full of joie de vivre, kind, handsome, and a true friend. He is survived by his beloved wife of 40 years, Mimi (Margaret Reusch) of Scarborough; his sisters Dagny Boe Eason and Karen Boe Miller of Wilton, CT, Ingri Boe-Wiegaard of Easton, CT, and Lulli Boe Akin of St. Louis, MO; and by 14 nieces and nephews and 39 great nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Carl was predeceased by his brother Petter Olaf Boe.

A funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, September 17th at 2:00 at St. Theresa Church, 1394 Pleasantville Rd, Briarcliff Manor, NY.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to your favorite charity or to SPCA of Westchester (spcawestchester.org).
