Barbara Jean Mackey 68, Of Ossining Ny, was a beloved daughter, sister, wife, mother, aunt, grandmother and friend.  She retired this life on February 25, 2021 to enter her eternal peace and rest. Barbara Jean was born on January 4, 1953 in Prince Edward County Virginia to Lucille and Eddie Ford.  She moved to Ossining with her family and became a long time resident.  She graduated from Ossining High School and later began her career of 30 plus years at the VA hospital in Montrose NY.  She was a hardworking dedicated employee who enjoyed serving the veterans of the military.  She retired in August 2020 while living in Danbury CT. Barbara jean was short in stature but had a giant personality.   Her feisty no -nonsense personality prepared her children for the world.  She taught them to always speak up for themselves but never hesitated to step in if she had to.   Her care for others wasn't always advertised but was impactful for the people she helped and loved. Barbara Jean loved music, dancing and playing her lotto. Barbara Jean's spirit lives on in each and every person she touched in all that they are and hope to be. Barbara Jean was preceded in death by her parents Lucille and Eddie Ford and Uncle David Matthews. Barbara Jean leaves to cherish her memory, her children Tonya Williams- Samson ( Rodney) of White plains NY, Son Omar Williams( Angela) of Peekskill NY, Shunee Mackey Significant Other ( Linard) of Danbury CT, six grandchildren Jeffery Clack,  Rodney and Gabrielle Samson, Reshad and Reshaun  Williams and Mia Jordan.  She also leaves her brother Eddie Ford of Rockland County NY, sisters Christine Jordan of  Ossining NY, Mary Ford of North Carolina, and Jamonica  Ford of Ossining NY, brother -in- law Thurman Jordan of Ossining NY, Adrien Dimmie of Peekskill NY, Aunts Mamie Washington (Great Aunt) and Barbara Ann Matthews of Ossining NY, Uncle Haywood Matthews Of Beacon NY. And a host of loved ones and friends. Memorial Visitation will be held at the Leach & Thomas Funeral Home on Friday March 26, 2021 from 3-4 PM. Memorial services will be held at 4 PM.
