Anthony "Tony" Michael Landano, Sr., a devoted husband, father, and longtime figure in New York's motion picture industry, passed away peacefully on February 18, 2026, surrounded by his family. He was 78.
Tony was born on November 17, 1947 in Little Italy, New York City, and spent much of his life rooted in the New York area, raising his family in Croton-on-Hudson. For decades, he built a career managing and running motion picture film labs in New York City, work he took great satisfaction in, and where he was known for mentoring those around him. Away from work, Tony was notoriously private, finding his peace and solitude at home with his family.
At the center of Tony's world was Teresa, his one and only, the love of his life. Their 56-year marriage was built on unwavering devotion, and to those who knew him, it was clear she was never far from his thoughts. Together they built a family, a home, and a life he cherished above all else. His greatest pride was being a father, blessed with three beautiful daughters and an angel of a son, Anthony Jr. He worked tirelessly to provide for them, giving them the kind of security and strength that will stay with them always.
Tony is survived by Teresa, their daughters Laura-Lisa, Maria-Elena, and Andrea-Lea, and their spouses Alan, Daniel, and Jie. He was predeceased by his son, Anthony Jr., who remains forever in the hearts of his family, his parents Thomas and Rose, and his brother Thomas.
Those who knew Tony remember a man who was generous to a fault, always the best tipper in the room, and who knew how to enjoy life. He had a passion for the racetrack, having owned and raced horses, and never passed up a good time at the casino. A lifelong New York Rangers fan, he brought that same devotion to everything he loved, including his beloved German Shepherd, Frankie.
As Tony would say, he has cashed in his chips with the Man upstairs. Let's hope he tipped well on the other side.
