Anne Micera, 89, a longtime resident of Hastings-on-Hudson, NY, passed away peacefully on December 16, 2025. She was residing at The Club at Briarcliff Manor at the time of her death.

Anne was born on April 4, 1936, in Manhattan, New York. In her youth, she was an accomplished basketball player and Irish step dancer, pursuits that reflected her lifelong energy, discipline, and love of learning.

A devoted Catholic, Anne's faith was a central part of her life and guided her dedication to service, family, and education. She spent many years as an English teacher at DeWitt Clinton High School in the Bronx, where she also served as advisor to the journalism program and the school newspaper. She retired from full-time teaching in 1991 but continued her commitment to education by working as a substitute teacher in the Hastings-on-Hudson school district.

Anne lived in Hastings-on-Hudson for most of her life before moving to assisted living at The Club at Briarcliff Manor.

She is survived by her three children, Annemarie (66), Gerard (53), and Stephen (51); her two sisters, Margaret and Elizabeth; and her two beloved grandchildren, Kyle (22) and James (8).

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, December 22, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Theresa's Church, 1394 Pleasantville Road, Briarcliff Manor, NY 10510. A memorial and urn viewing will follow from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Waterbury & Kelly Funeral Home, 1300 Pleasantville Road, Briarcliff Manor, NY 10510.

Anne will be remembered as a devoted mother and grandmother, a dedicated educator, and a woman of deep faith whose influence extended far beyond the classroom.
