Joseph (Joe) D. Tobin Sr.

Joseph (Joe) D. Tobin, Sr. of Montrose and formally of Ossining, passed away on May 13, 2017. He was born in Ossining on October 27, 1932, a son of John and Margaret (Malone) Tobin. Joe was predeceased by his parents and his two brothers, John (Buddy) and Arthur(Artie), and son-in-law Billy DiCola. He was also predeceased by his former wife, Mary Jane, mother of his loving, surviving children, Tracey DiCola, Kelly Dyckman, Joseph D. Tobin Jr. and Patrick Tobin (Sandy). Joe is survived by his devoted wife, Audrey, and by grandchildren, Natalie and Dayna DiCola and Troy and Joseph (Joey) Dyckman.He was also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and other beloved family members. Joe attended Ossining schools and proudly served overseas in the U. S. Army in the 1950's. He was a member of Washington Hook and Ladder for over 50 years. Joe worked actively as a member of the Teamsters Local 445 driving large semis across the Northeast to deliver automobiles. He enjoyed golfing, social events with family and friends and traveling with his wife Audrey.He was always willing to lend a hand to anyone who needed help and also enjoyed caring for family pets. His cheerful grin and sense of humor entertained us all and will be remembered. In his later years. Joe handled severe ailments with wonderful strength and courage. His stamina was inspiring. Reposing 2-4 and 6-8 PM Tuesday May 16, 2017 at the Leach & Thomas Funeral Home. Funeral service 11 AM Wednesday, May 17, 2017 at the funeral home. A private cremation will follow. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to your favorite charity.
