Florence Cesario (Genovese), 96, originally of Mount Vernon, NY died peacefully in her sleep at Bethel Nursing Home, Croton-on-Hudson, NY on April 23, 2018. She was predeceased by her husband, Marco. They were married 68 years. Florence, was born October 11, 1921, and attended Mount Vernon schools, graduating from Edison High School. She met her husband, Marco, at the Mount Vernon Indoor Skating rink and married on June 27, 1943. While living in Mount Vernon, Florence was very active in St. Ursula’s Church. Florence was one of the first employees to be hired by the newly opened Gimbels Department Store (1954) at Cross County Center, Yonkers, NY. She worked at Gimbels until the store closed in 1987. Florence enjoyed working in retail, and loved people. Florence’s hobby was cooking, with her well known noodle pudding, enjoyed by all! She and Marco were known for showing up at all their grand children sporting events, and cheering them on! She is survived by her son Richard (Dea), daughter Lorraine Krsulich, grandsons Brian Cesario (Kaci), Vincent Krsulich (Joanna), and granddaughter, Lori Stachelski (Mark). She was the proud great-grandmother of Dylan, Paige, (Krsulich) and Jovic, Kellan (Stachelski). Reposing, Waterbury & Kelly Funeral Home, on Wednesday, April 25th from 4:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Parish of St. Theresa, Briarcliff Manor, NY on Thursday at 10:00 a.m., with interment to follow at Rose Hills Memorial Park, Putnam Valley, NY.
