Walter Sudomir, age 95, died on January 10, 2018 at Hebrew Rehabilitation Center in Boston, Mass. Walter was born to Michael and Helen Phillips Sudomir in Yonkers, NY
on August 13, 1922. He served his country in World War II in the Army and was stationed in Trinidad. He was a waiter by profession and worked many years at "Leighton's" restaurant on the Saw Mill River Parkway. He lived most of his life in Yonkers, NY and in 1999 moved to Ossining, NY. He most recently moved to Boston to be close to his niece. He was a congregant of St. Mary's Orthodox Church in Yonkers, NY. He is survived by his niece, Dr. Lori Adcock and her husband Dr. Amiel Cooper of Boston, Mass and a grandniece, Thea Cooper of Irvington, NY, who he adored. He is also survived by cousins Lt. General Kevin Huyck (USAF) and family of Colorado, Andrea Huyck and family of Alaska, Jere Huyck of New Hampshire and Georgia Wilson and Christopher Pluchos of Arizona. He was known as "Uncle Walter" to many people who considered him part of their extended families. He loved them all.The family would like to express their sincere thanks to the wonderful staff at Hebrew Rehabilitation Center for their exceptional care and kindness.
