Peggy R. Frese

Peggy (Mary Margaret) Richardson Frese, former resident of Briarcliff Manor, Tarrytown, Ossining, and Raquette Lake, NY, died of a stroke at age 91 on January 29, 2017.  She was born in Port Clinton, Ohio, on April 15, 1925, the daughter of Harold Evelyn Richardson and Ethel Genevieve (Gifford) Richardson.  After graduating from LSU, Peggy worked for the Girl Scouts of America and later was a volunteer Girl Scout Leader in Briarcliff.  She was active in The Reformed Church of the Tarrytowns, the Saw Mill River Audubon Society, Rockefeller State Park, AA as a member and sponsor, and the Briarcliff Swim Team, who named ‘Swim Team Grandmother.’  She was predeceased by her husband Edward, brother Dick Richardson, dear friend Nancy Fisk, and dog Eddy #2.  Peggy loved dogs, ice cream, fishing, life-guarding, sailing, trees, and all thing Nature, but not house-keeping or paying bills. Her playful smile, infectious laugh, and extraordinary spirit will be missed by everyone who knew her, especially her loving children Anne Chant (Paul), Charles (Laurie), and William (Sara); Ted (Chris) and Victoria, and grandchildren Sarah, Emily, and Thomas Chant, and Rob Frese (Evy). Visiting hours will be at the Waterbury & Kelly Funeral Home, 1300 Pleasantville Rd, Briarcliff Manor, NY from 4:00 to 8:00pm on Tuesday, January 31, and a funeral service will be held there at 10:00am on Wednesday, with internment in Sleepy Hollow Cemetery.  At a future date a memorial service will be scheduled. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to The Reformed Church (42 N.
