Nancy (Spera) Falco

Nancy (Spera) Falco, age 91, passed away peacefully at home in Ossining, NY, on February 28, 2018. Born on July 14, 1926 in New Haven, CT, to Amalia and Pasquale Spera, she graduated from Hill House High School. Following graduation, Nancy was employed by the phone company until 1947, when she married the love of her life, Silvio Falco. Married for 42 years until his death in 1991, they raised three children in Yonkers, NY, before moving to Hawthorne, NY, where she lived until four years ago. Nancy was employed for many years as an interior decorator with Caiati Furniture in Hartsdale, NY, and continued working with clients well into her eighties. Beloved matriarch of the Falco family, she was fiercely independent and lived a very active life on her own terms. After retiring, Nancy, remained active volunteering as a tutor for the ESL program at the Warner library in Tarrytown, NY, traveling with her friends, reading and most importantly, cooking. No visitor to her home was ever permitted to leave without something to eat and a cup of coffee. In addition to her husband, Nancy was predeceased by her brothers, Gerry and Vincent Punzo.  She is survived by her loving children, Joseph (Jennifer Ware) of Norwalk, CT; Gerry (Karen) of Valhalla, NY; and Adele (Fred Dubin) of Irvington, NY. She is also survived by eight adoring grandchildren: Alexander and Molly Falco; Darius, Tanya, Scotland (Lady) and Nathaniel Long; and Michael and Christian Falco. She was a family pillar for many nieces and nephews as well. A memorial service will be held at St. Augustine Roman Catholic Church in Ossining at 10:00 am on Saturday, March 3.
